Mrs Austin? Mrs Austin!? HELLO MRS AUSTIN!!!

Sitting on a park bench today in Windermere I was joined by a middle aged woman eating a packed lunch. Soon after, a procession of OAPs staggered past with all imaginable walking aids. As they passed the bench, the woman next to me started speaking to leading OAP – Mrs Austin. To begin with there was no response, but after several failed greeting attempts, Mrs Austin finally replied. During all the commotion, I was startled by another old lady sitting down to my left – Norma had walked as far as she could manage and just had to rest. . .Thinking that the rest of the group were waiting at the next bench, Norma and her carer sat down to rest. A couple of minutes of general chit-chat Norma’s carer suddenly realisd that the main group hadn’t waited for them…A highly repetitive conversation concluded was concluded with the fact that Norma’s carer was not allowed to leave here anywhere, under any  circumstances……. but why not?! – Is she a risk to herself? Or other people? Would she try and escape?! I never got any answers to these questions as Norma found her strength again and stumbled on to the next bench…

These shannanigans made me wonder… what really goes on in elderly care homes?! Are they secret training camps for OAPs?! – Teaching them all they need to know about spying on the general public…. Or are they actually where OAPs are kept under false pretenses to STOP them spying??? – Drugged up to keep them docile… Alternatively, elderly care homes could be where the top quality spies are housed, keeping them safe from any potential harm. Incapacitated OAPs are the best possible form of deception…
